If you're planning a 2027 wedding, here are the photography and film trends we expect to shape the year, and how we approach each one as a Telford-based wedding photographer and videographer working across Shropshire, the West Midlands and the UK.
1. Photo and film booked together
More couples want both photographs and a wedding film, and booking one team for both makes the day simpler: one timeline, one set of portraits and no one stepping into the other's shot. Our Photo & Film Combo is £3,000 for full-day coverage.
2. Micro weddings and registry office days
Smaller weddings with a registry office ceremony and a meal with close family remain popular. Half-day coverage suits them well; our registry office and micro wedding photography is £699 for up to 4 hours.
3. Documentary over posed
Candid, documentary wedding photography, capturing what really happens rather than long lists of posed shots, keeps growing. We still plan family groups so they're quick, but most of the day is photographed as it unfolds.
4. Multi-day and cultural celebrations
African traditional weddings followed by a white wedding, and Asian weddings with a mehndi, ceremony and reception, are often covered over more than one day. Planning every event with the couple and family beforehand is what makes these days work on camera.
5. Short highlight films for sharing
Alongside a full feature film, couples want a short highlight reel they can share with friends and family. Our cinematic wedding film includes a 30–90 second highlight reel as well as a 15–35 minute feature film.
6. Drone footage
Aerial shots of the venue and its setting add scale to a film, especially at country estates and places like Ironbridge Gorge. Drone footage can be added for £50 where the venue allows it.
7. Fast sneak peeks and printed albums
Couples want a few photos to share within days, then something lasting to hold. We deliver a sneak peek within 48 hours and offer a luxury photobook album for £350.
